Ruta del Vino Rioja Alta
The exhibition, produced by the Aesclick Association, is part of the events marking the 800th anniversary of the appointment of Blessed Mª Urraca as abbess. Until the end of the year, the exhibition ‘La Beata Mª Urraca: Fe y Aventuras en el Mundo Playmóbil’ can be visited in the Cloister of the Monastery of Cañas, an exhibition that is part of the programme ‘Legado de Luz’ that is being developed throughout this 2025 to celebrate the 800th anniversary of the appointment of the Blessed as abbess. The Aesclick association has faithfully recreated the period in which this illustrious woman from La Rioja lived, with a few winks for children. In addition, the Monastery itself has been reproduced with great accuracy, with scenes that are surprisingly realistic, such as the area of the church with the altarpiece or even the chapter house with the tomb of Blessed Mª Urraca. The diorama has a surface area of 2.40 metres wide by 10 metres long and ‘Vitoclick, Moniclack, Sacinete, Agus, Robinclick, Hispano, Sanmillán, Erika, Playpucela, Clickbill, Aleta and Burgobil have participated in its assembly and in providing the pieces’, as the president of Aesclick explained.
The Centro de la Cultura del Rioja (CCR) has opened its doors to a unique and permanent exhibition that pays tribute to those who have built the history of Rioja wine from its roots. Entitled ‘The Family of Wine’, this photographic exhibition offers an unprecedented look at the evolution of the sector through 110 historical images taken between 1880 and 1920. The central focus of this permanent exhibition is on people. Through the portraits of workers, farmers and winemakers, a collective story is constructed about the evolution of Rioja wine and its connection with the territory and the community that made it possible. The aim of the exhibition is to highlight not only the quality of the final product, but also the effort and dedication of those who have been behind its production over the years. With this exhibition, the Rioja Culture Centre offers an immersive and educational experience, designed both for those who know the sector and for those who are approaching the history of wine for the first time. It is an initiative that seeks to preserve the visual memory of Rioja and to raise awareness of the essential role played by its protagonists in the consolidation of […]
The third edition of Montecillo Summer Soirée is coming to Bodegas Montecillo, this time with a single concert on Saturday, July 5th, featuring the Riojan band EBA AL DESNUDO. The group, made up of Víctor, Javi, Jorge, Domingo, and Iggy, was a revelation in Rioja, even appearing on the lineup for the 1999 Actual festival alongside La Oreja de Van Gogh and Los Fresones Rebeldes. At the end of 2024, EBA AL DESNUDO returned to the stage with two massive concerts that sold out in just a few hours. Furthermore, this time they will be accompanied by a young and promising band from Rioja, FAHRENHEIT, made up of Alfredo, Eder, and Diego. FAHRENHEIT, which has already participated in previous editions of the Montecillo Summer Soirée, will open the evening at 8:00 p.m. at the winery’s headquarters in Navarrete. The concert, lasting approximately three hours, will take place in the winery’s garden, a landmark, a small oasis in Polígono Lentiscares where Montecillo often hosts events during good weather. Those who wish to enjoy the music in a more relaxed atmosphere are encouraged to bring their own picnic blankets so they can sit more comfortably on the grass. During the event, a […]
Festivity of National Tourist Interest and Festivity of Regional Tourist Interest Representation of the Peace of Briones, a historical event of 646 years ago. A very important chapter in the History of Spain. Briones, a border town between the kingdoms of Castile and Navarre. On 30 March 1379, Charles II King of Navarre and Henry II King of Castile reached a peace agreement in Briones with the mediation of Guido de Boulogne. As if it were a journey back in time, and for two days a year, the town of Briones is fully immersed in the 14th century and recreates in detail the ‘modus vivendi’ of that time. What makes the Jornadas Medievales de Briones different is that it is NOT a market, nothing is sold except food and drink. The aim of the festival is to show off the village, to show off its mansions, its cobbled streets ……, and to enjoy it, strolling around and admiring its uniqueness.
