The Witches of Zugarramurdi return to Logroño from 7 to 9 November with more than thirty activities, including a re-enactment of the Auto-da-fé of 1610.
  • Witchcraft Market: The Witchcraft Market, with stalls selling crafts, food, decorations, and more, will be open throughout the weekend on Paseo del Espolón: from Friday, 7 November (opening at 12 noon) to Sunday, 9 November.
  • Programme:
    • Friday, 7 November: Camino al Mercado parade and theatrical performance El porqué de las brujas (The Reason for Witches), preceded by a lecture by Rosa Mª Sandín Romano entitled La verdad de una mentira (The Truth of a Lie). The reality of the Auto de Fe de Logroño in 1610 and the parade, with a final show featuring dance and fire, Sorginak de Bargota, performed by the Garañango theatre group, the Batucada Goraño and the musical group Cántaro Folk.
    • Saturday, 8th November: traditional guided tour of the most notable sites in Logroño where the Inquisition took place and the parade Las gentes de Bargota (The People of Bargota); in the afternoon, the Camino al Akelarre parade will lead to the representation of the akelarre and the arrest of the witches in the Ebro Park, followed by the Green Cross Procession, which will culminate in the representation of the Auto de Fe of 1610 in the Concha del Espolón, with a special focus on Alonso de Salazar y Frías.
    • On Sunday 9 November, after the guided tour that ends in the Ebro Park, the most emotional event will take place: the Tribute in the Forest of Memory, where eleven elm trees commemorate the victims of the process.
