Brands HOPLITAWINES is a boutique winery located in the old town of Logroño. The winery is dedicated to the production of wines from a single plot or ‘terroir’ wine, located in the municipalities of San Asensio and Briones. Old vineyards and in some cases centenary, with an average age of over 90 years. We have recovered the winemaking process in the Old Town of Logroño, in the old Palace of the Count of Murillo and Bornos and in a cellar of an old winery, all of them dating from the beginning of the 16th century….. This is the spirit of HOPLITA, to care for and preserve both the historic vineyards and the heritage of our region. HOPLITAWINES is dedicated to the ‘deconstruction’ of claret wine. Our plots were planted for the production of claret wine, ‘claret de San Asensio’, we produce the white grapes separately from the reds, making 2 wines per plot. We work the vineyard and winemaking from parameters of respect and sustainability, several plots are only worked exclusively by hand, without any type of mechanisation and we have managed to reduce energy consumption by more than 75%, also working on the capture of CO2 in several projects. Brands Ayagar. Bodegas Ayagar was founded in 2004, located in the historic Rioja village of Hormilleja, whose ancestral cultivation of vines has left an indelible memory for this village in the chimneys of the caves dug into the rock and many metres deep, where the wine produced by each neighbour was and is currently stored. According to documentation, the land of Hormilleja is considered to be one of the most privileged areas for the production of vines, which is more than enough reason to create the first winery to market wines with the Rioja Designation of Origin in the village of Hormilleja and thus demonstrate the great quality of its wines. Its facilities are equipped with modern advances in the world of wine which, combined with its good work and great respect for the grape, make our wines a WINE WITH SOUL. In a short time, Beronia became a benchmark winery for its reserves and grand reserves, made in the purest and most traditional style of La Rioja. In 1982 González Byass incorporated Bodegas Beronia into its Wine Family. Its good work in the field of viticulture is passed down from father to son. You will be guided through its facilities by a “Betolaza”. Who better to take you on a tour? You will be able to visit the winery where they will explain the elaboration and ageing of their wines, and you will visit the vineyards and learn about the work that is carried out throughout the year. Brands Viña Pomal Bodegas Bilbaínas, one of the oldest wineries in La Rioja, was founded in 1901 in the mythical Barrio de la Estación in Haro (Rioja Alta). A pioneer since its creation in making wines from its own grapes, it is the largest owner of vineyards in the municipality of Haro. A total of 250 hectares surround the winery, emulating the prestigious French châteaux. Its origins date back to 1859, when French producers settled in this Riojan municipality to produce and export red wine to France. Four decades later, the Bilbao businessman Santiago Ugarte took it over. The winery has the oldest bottling register in La Rioja, since its origins, the wines were bottled and labelled on the property. The main building houses a surface area of 3,400 m2 of underground cellars. The first vintage of Viña Pomal, the winery’s flagship brand, dates back to 1904, the starting point for the birth of a classic. Viña Pomal owes its name to the vineyard in which it originated.
