Bodegas Ayagar was founded in 2004, located in the historic Rioja village of Hormilleja, whose ancestral cultivation of vines has left an indelible memory for this village in the chimneys of the caves dug into the rock and many metres deep, where the wine produced by each neighbour was and is currently stored. According to documentation, the land of Hormilleja is considered to be one of the most privileged areas for the production of vines, which is more than enough reason to create the first winery to market wines with the Rioja Designation of Origin in the village of Hormilleja and thus demonstrate the great quality of its wines. Its facilities are equipped with modern advances in the world of wine which, combined with its good work and great respect for the grape, make our wines a WINE WITH SOUL. The winery also has a barbecue grill and a large dining room where typical Riojan dishes are served. The dining room is only open to groups and by prior reservation.
Visits to the winery
- Opening hours: Visits are available from Monday to Sunday, by prior reservation. Timetable to be agreed (from 10.00 a.m.). Minimum 4 people up to a maximum of 46.
- Price: Visit to the winery and wine tasting: 10 € (Includes a visit to the old winery where you will discover a wine past that is worth seeing and which will be accompanied by a typical Rioja tasting (sausages and a variety of snacks washed down with our wines), followed by a visit to the winery where the wines are made and where we can see the process from the beginning.
- Languages: Spanish, English (on request).
- Activities: Visit to the winery including wine tasting from 10 € per person, approximate visit time 1,30 h. Lunch or dinner at the winery from 28 € per person, including free visit to the winery, approximate time 2 to 3 hours. Any other variant, please ask at the winery.
