Bodegas Ayagar was founded in 2004, located in the historic Rioja village of Hormilleja, whose ancestral cultivation of vines has left an indelible memory for this village in the chimneys of the caves dug into the rock and many metres deep, where the wine produced by each neighbour was and is currently stored. According to documentation, the land of Hormilleja is considered to be one of the most privileged areas for the production of vines, which is more than enough reason to create the first winery to market wines with the Rioja Designation of Origin in the village of Hormilleja and thus demonstrate the great quality of its wines. Its facilities are equipped with modern advances in the world of wine which, combined with its good work and great respect for the grape, make our wines a WINE WITH SOUL. The winery also has a barbecue grill and a large dining room where typical Riojan dishes are served. The dining room is only open to groups and by prior reservation.
Visits to the winery
- Opening times: Visits, tastings and meals are always available by prior reservation. The timetable for the tastings is from 10:00 to 12:00 (minimum 8 people). The timetable for the visit to the winery is one hour before the meals in the restaurant and they are usually from 12:30 to 13:30 with a minimum of 8 people and the timetable for the meals is from 13:00 to 16:00.
- Price: Visit to the winery and wine tasting: 25€ (cold meats and assorted snacks washed down with our wines). There is also the possibility of visiting the old winery for an additional €5 to the tasting.
- Languages: Spanish, English (on request).
- Activities: Visit to the winery for 8€ per person, approximate visit time 1 h. Lunch or dinner at the winery from 33/39€ per person, including the visit to the winery free of charge, approximate time 2 to 3 h. Any other variant, please ask at the winery.
