On 21 and 22 March, from dusk until 1 a.m., the historic centre of the town will be transformed into a huge stage where art, audiovisual technology and heritage will come together to commemorate the historic moment when the town was lit up for the first time and offer a new perspective on its most emblematic spaces. Visitors will be able to enjoy a night-time tour that includes video mapping projections on historic buildings, immersive light and sound installations, digital art and travelling stage shows. In this regard, “The Light that Guides Us” will feature the outstanding participation of internationally renowned visual creator Chema Siscar, who specialises in the field of video mapping and digital arts applied to heritage and has designed specific pieces for this first edition of the festival. His most notable projects include installations at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow, Christ the Redeemer in Rio de Janeiro and the Plaza Mayor in Salamanca.
The light installation route will have its focal points at the Bank of Spain, Haro Town Hall and the Church of Santo Tomás with three video mappings designed by Siscar; the kiosk in the Plaza de la Paz, which will become a centre of visual energy with “Axis mundi”; and the visual spectacle at the well-known mural “Los Borrachos”.
