La Rioja’s gastronomy once again takes center stage with the selection of the ten finalists of the 24th La Rioja Tapas Competition, one of the most prominent culinary contests in northern Spain.

After several weeks visiting the participating establishments, the traveling jury has selected the ten bars and restaurants that will compete for the coveted “Golden Apron.” The grand final will take place on March 17 at Riojaforum, in a live showcooking format open to the public, where finalists will prepare their creations on site.

Organized by the Government of La Rioja, this competition not only aims to reward the creativity and technical skill of chefs, but also to highlight local products and the region’s gastronomic identity. Over the years, it has become a key event for the hospitality sector, as well as a major tourist attraction that encourages visitors to explore different towns through their tapas.

In this edition, 60 establishments from 14 towns have taken part, reflecting the high standards and culinary diversity that define La Rioja. Only ten have made it to the final stage, where a jury of renowned gastronomic professionals will decide the winners.

Beyond the competition itself, the event continues to strengthen the connection between gastronomy, territory, and culture, consolidating La Rioja as a must-visit destination for food lovers.
