February on the Rioja Alta Wine Route: wine, love and Carnival
Experiences News Rioja Alta Wine Route

February is the perfect month to immerse yourself in the charm of the Rioja Alta Wine Route. The days are still cool, but the warmth of the wineries, the traditional cuisine and the winter landscape among the vineyards make this the ideal time to enjoy wine tourism at a leisurely pace.

What’s more, with Valentine’s Day taking centre stage this month, Rioja Alta is the perfect setting for a romantic getaway. Experiences designed for sharing, charming accommodation and carefully crafted gastronomic offerings make February an invitation to celebrate love in all its forms.

Valentine’s Day among wineries, gastronomy and relaxation

Wine tourism is an ideal option for celebrating Valentine’s Day. During February, many wineries on the Rioja Alta Wine Route offer experiences designed for couples, such as private tours, special tastings and sensory experiences that allow you to explore vineyards and facilities in a more intimate atmosphere.

Charming accommodation completes the plan. Rural houses among vineyards, boutique hotels or establishments with spas and wine therapy offer comfort, authenticity and that special touch that turns a getaway into a lasting memory.

Gastronomy also plays a fundamental role. Local restaurants have prepared special menus for the occasion, with traditional dishes paired with Rioja Alta wines, ideal for enjoying at a leisurely pace.

Carnival

February is also the month of Carnival, a celebration deeply rooted in the towns along the Rioja Alta Wine Route. Parades, music, costumes and gastronomy fill the streets and squares, offering an opportunity to discover local folklore.

The Logroño Carnival is particularly noteworthy, with a large parade in which more than 3,000 people take part, as well as activities for all ages that fill the city with a festive atmosphere.
