If you are lucky enough to be able to enjoy a few days off, the Pilar long weekend is the perfect time to come and visit us. In the middle of the grape harvest, our marvellous landscapes shine in all their splendour and their tones change every day, going from green, to reddish, to ochre… colours that you will keep forever in your memory.
Because of this beauty that attracts more and more visitors (last year we were the second most visited Wine Route in Spain), during the autumn and, specifically, for the Pilar long weekend, the proposals of our associates multiply.

Our aim is to generate memorable experiences for travellers seeking a new concept of tourism based on wine culture. But always, always, bearing in mind the concept of sustainability in all its facets: economic, social, environmental, heritage, cultural, etcetera. A balance that is turning wine tourism in Rioja Alta into a lever for change.
The grape harvest is now the star event and many wineries and companies offer activities to enjoy it and get to know it in this unique setting. In the Agenda section of our website you will find very special events and activities that our partners have lovingly programmed for these days. Cutting the grapes, visiting the vineyards, having lunch in them or even treading the harvested fruit in the traditional way, with your feet, are just some of the proposals.

There is also the possibility of harvesting with the family, turning the little ones into grape pickers for a day; of attending concerts with food and wine pairings; of doing a cheese tasting -we don’t only know about wine in the Rioja Alta- or even taking part in a yoga session at the foot of the vineyard. To recharge your batteries, in our restaurants you can try some of the most representative dishes of the famous Rioja gastronomy: potatoes with chorizo, cod, vine shoot chops, lamb tripe… “traditional” cuisine, but also innovative cuisine that has managed to fuse the best of several generations.
