This international exhibition is open to trade visitors from today until 6 November.
From today, 4 November, until Thursday, 6 November, the Government of La Rioja is participating in the World Travel Market (WTM) international tourism fair, which is being held at the Excel Exhibition Centre in London. With a specific promotional area within the Turespaña stand, La Rioja is promoting its tourism offering with the aim of attracting an important audience for our region, namely international visitors, particularly those from the UK.
Throughout these meetings with international professionals from the tourism sector and marketing agents, comprehensive information and the strengths of La Rioja as a destination and its tourism resources are being presented. Wine tourism, gastronomy, culture, nature and landscapes, rural tourism, conference tourism, historical and cultural heritage, and leisure and free time are some of the experiences about which professionals will be able to obtain specific details.
In addition, a working table has been set up in the area dedicated to La Rioja to hold meetings that generate business opportunities for the Rioja tourism sector and reinforce the fact that we are a distinctive, sustainable and high-quality tourist destination.
Specifically, the Rioja delegation in the United Kingdom has arranged more than thirty meetings with agencies, media outlets and international operators with whom it hopes to consolidate the favourable evolution that the sector has experienced, in view of the latest data provided by the INE, which puts the number of travellers who have visited our region so far this year at 730,000, spending 198 euros per day in the case of international tourism.
Along with ITB in Berlin and Fitur in Madrid, the WTM fair in London is one of the main events in the international tourism industry. It is important to note that, during the last edition of this forum, WTM brought together more than 46,000 tourism professionals.
