On Monday, 6 October, the Rioja Alta Wine Route had the honour of hosting a very special familiarisation day, which was attended by the Rioja Oriental Wine Route and ADR La Rioja Oriental. This initiative, organised in collaboration with the Government of La Rioja and ADRA, brought together around twenty professionals to share experiences and strengthen collaboration between territories in the promotion of high-quality wine tourism.
As hosts, in Rioja Alta we proudly showcased the richness of our region through visits to iconic places such as Lácteos Martínez – Queso Los Cameros in Haro, where attendees discovered the artisanal production process and enjoyed an exquisite tasting. We also offered a unique experience at Bodegas Lecea in San Asensio, where the vineyard and guided tasting highlighted the importance of family tradition and the fundamental role of wine tourism in our region.

The group ended the day with a visit to the Natura Resort complex in Casalarreina, which highlighted Rioja Alta’s capacity for innovation and overcoming obstacles in sustainable tourism projects.
To conclude, we organised a round table discussion in which all attendees shared their thoughts on the best practices, synergies and public policies needed to continue promoting wine tourism in La Rioja. The ‘Rioja’ brand was reaffirmed as the backbone and distinctive feature that promotes the region nationally and internationally.

This event demonstrated, once again, the value of cooperation between routes and territories. At the Rioja Alta Wine Route, we remain committed to acting as hosts, showcasing the essence and quality that make La Rioja a leading destination for lovers of wine and wine tourism culture.
