One of the most eagerly awaited events of the year is back!

Enjoy a unique weekend of tradition and fine wine, with activities for all ages at the 17th Grape Treading Festival.

  • Programming:
    • Saturday, 4 October::
      From 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.: Traditional grape treading for the production of Corazón de Lago wine.
    • Sunday, 5 October:
      From 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. (treading until 12 noon): Grape pressing at the Bodegas Lecea wine press. You can watch the video of the treading at this link.
  • Activities and prices (available throughout the weekend):
    • Visit to the 16th-century wine cellars + wine tasting (4 tickets and complimentary glass): €25. Book here on 4 or 5 October.
    • Wine tasting (4 tickets and gift glass): €15

    • Food tasting: €5
    • Tour through vineyards in a Land Rover 4×4 convertible: €10

  • Free admission to the grape treading and pressing and grape treading for children.
    During these days, you can see and participate in the traditional production of our most emblematic wine: Corazón de Lago. It is a carbonic maceration wine, made by treading the grapes by hand, just as our grandparents did, following the authentic tradition of the ancient wines of Rioja. This unique activity is held only once a year, coinciding with the grape harvest, the date of which varies depending on the weather. It usually takes place in early October, when the grapes reach their optimum ripeness.
    For us, making Corazón de Lago is much more than a tradition: it is a tribute to our history, our roots and the most traditional way of making wine.

    • Please be punctual: On busy days, it is not possible to change visiting groups.
