From 21 to 25 July, the Plaza de Santa María in Nájera once again becomes an open-air stage for a new edition of the Crónica Najerense, one of Spain’s most renowned historical re-enactments. Recognised as a Festival of Tourist Interest of La Rioja and an Intangible Cultural Heritage Site, this unique production transports audiences to the 10th and 11th centuries, telling the story of the ancient Kingdom of Nájera through a captivating combination of theatre, music, lighting and stunning stage effects.

More than 200 local performers bring to life kings, nobles, knights, villagers and legendary figures in a production that blends historical accuracy with emotion. Since 1969, the dedication of the local community has made this event one of the highlights of La Rioja’s summer cultural calendar.
