The Centro de la Cultura del Rioja (CCR) has opened its doors to a unique and permanent exhibition that pays tribute to those who have built the history of Rioja wine from its roots. Entitled ‘The Family of Wine’, this photographic exhibition offers an unprecedented look at the evolution of the sector through 110 historical images taken between 1880 and 1920.
The central focus of this permanent exhibition is on people. Through the portraits of workers, farmers and winemakers, a collective story is constructed about the evolution of Rioja wine and its connection with the territory and the community that made it possible. The aim of the exhibition is to highlight not only the quality of the final product, but also the effort and dedication of those who have been behind its production over the years.
With this exhibition, the Rioja Culture Centre offers an immersive and educational experience, designed both for those who know the sector and for those who are approaching the history of wine for the first time. It is an initiative that seeks to preserve the visual memory of Rioja and to raise awareness of the essential role played by its protagonists in the consolidation of one of the most recognised designations of origin in the world.
