After two years without enjoying the hustle and bustle of the National Pottery and Ceramics Fair of Navarrete N.A.CE., this weekend, 15th, 16th and 17th July, its fourteenth edition will take place. It will do so with a full programme of exhibitions, tributes, conferences, workshops and concerts that will place Navarrete, and the whole Rioja Alta Wine Route, in the spotlight and epicentre of pottery and ceramics.

As the mayoress of this town, María Luisa Corzana, explained during the presentation of the Fair, “Navarrete has a soul of clay, it is its hallmark, and, as the only pottery centre in the north of Spain, we want to continue to be a key focus of knowledge”. On this occasion, moreover, with a focus on women and all those women potters who have played an important role throughout history, but who have not been sufficiently recognised.

The fair is aimed at the general public and will feature 33 stands of potters and ceramists from all over Spain, which will be open during the three days of the fair from 11:00 to 14:30 and from 17:00 to 22:00.

This fourteenth edition will open to the public two exhibitions Creators; the role of women in pottery and ceramics, which will bring together in the Román Zaldívar exhibition hall pieces from the main women’s pottery centres such as Moveros and Pereruela and works by the best current potters, including María Boffil, Carmen Ballester, Yukiko Kitahara, Maria Oriza, Madola and Lusesita, among others.
