San Vicente de la Sonsierra

This is a short walk of about two kilometres that will take you through our walled enclosure and give you incredible panoramic views. Follow the QR route that we have designed so that you can visit it, whenever you want and at your own pace, and you will find out how the Fohen effect influences the quality of wine, where the oldest cave wine press in La Rioja is, what the conjuratories were used for, and when the castle was built.

All you need to do is download a free QR reader app from Google Play or App Store (Bidi, QR Code, etc…), install it on your mobile phone and follow the route that starts in the Plaza and continues down Calle Mayor towards Calle Carnicerías, enter the castle through the Puerta de la Primicia and discover all this and much more.

On this route you will find five viewing points of the virtual reconstruction application “Arkikus – Castillo San Vicente”. You will find on your route the signposting of the route and two different types of QRs: the brown ones (with the image of the church) will give you information about the historical and artistic heritage, and the maroon ones (with the image of a vineyard keeper) will tell you about the landscape, the wine and the way of life of the Sonserranos.

And remember, the route starts next to the arcades of the Town Hall and continues down Calle Mayor towards Calle Carnicerías.
