Bodegas Ruiz Alfaya is a family winery that cultivates its own vineyards in an absolutely privileged area, located in Castilseco, Rioja Alta. We treasure the knowledge of our generations, we pamper our vineyards with the passion that our ancestors have passed down to us for centuries, combining the history and culture of this wonderful enclave of Castilseco, which enjoys a privileged location in the foothills of the Obarenes Mountains.
The winery has its own vineyards, covering an area of approximately 17 hectares, located in the Rioja Alta, between the municipalities of Sajazarra, Cuzcurrita de Rio Tirón and Villalba de Rioja. The largest percentage of hectares are in Castilseco, where the winery is also located.
We have a privileged location in the foothills of the Obarenes Mountains, with a climate with a predominantly moderate Atlantic climate, with chalky and clayey soils of gentle relief. Of the 17 hectares, Tempranillo Tinto predominates, but we also have other varieties such as: Garnacha Tinta, Viura and Tempranillo Blanco.
All these characteristics help us to produce wines with a balanced acidity, aromatic, elegant and classy wines.

The best way to discover is to share. We propose a selection of visits to discover the history of our village, to get to know our vineyards and the secrets of the production of our wines. You will be able to visit our Romanesque jewel which is the Church of San Julián from the 22nd-13th century, located in Castilseco.New opening of our Wine Bar where you can enjoy our wines, tapas and local products.

• Mondays to Sundays: Appointments are essential on +34 646 466 940 (Ana).
• Wine Bar: Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays: 12:00 to 16:00 and 19:00 to 22:00.
• Languages: Spanish and English.

Experiences:

EXPERIENCE AMONG VINEYARDS, VISIT TO THE ROMANIC CHURCH AND TASTING: The visitor will be able to combine the walk among vineyards, in a unique setting at the foot of the Obarenes Mountains, with a visit to our Romanesque jewel, the 12th-13th century Church of San Julián, located in Castilseco. We will finish with a tasting of all our wines and the tasting of local products.

• Duration: Approx. 60-90 minutes.
• Includes: Tasting of 5 wines accompanied by local chorizo and salchichón sausage, cured cheese from the Cameros and stuffed peppers with homemade sauce.
• Price: 20€.

QUAD ROUTE EXPERIENCE AMONG THE VINEYARDS, CHURCH AND TASTING: Departure by quad from Haro to Castilseco. Quad route between forests and vineyards enjoying a unique landscape and the tranquillity of our fields located at the foot of the Obarenes Mountains. We will make our first stop at one of our vineyards where David will be waiting for you to explain the work and the vegetation in the vineyard. We will visit our Romanesque jewel, the 12th-13th century church of San Julián in Castilseco. This adventure will culminate with a tasting that Ana will prepare for you in our winery. This will include a tasting of local products together with our range of wines made from our own grapes.

PAIRING EXPERIENCE: This is an experience in which we have fused cuisine with our wines. You will be able to taste 5 dishes prepared by the winemaker plus dessert and each one of them with its corresponding wine. It is an experience that most visitors love.
