Bodegas Viña Ijalba was born from the concern that its founder, Dionisio Ruiz Ijalba, had for the recovery of soils for planting vineyards. The winery was built in 1991; a modern and avant-garde building, where priority is given to the best and most up-to-date technological processes in wine production. Since its beginnings it has maintained the premise of respect for the environment in the production of its organic wines. All the winery processes are carried out in a natural way, with the strictest respect for the environment, without chemical additives and recycling waste.
During the tour of the Singular Visit we show you our vineyards located around the winery, the Rioja Qualified Designation of Origin, the entire winemaking process from the reception of the grapes, through tanks, barrels and bottling area, the peculiarities of our winery insisting on the ecological processes and many curiosities about the world of wine and the winery. The visit ends with a tasting of two wines and oil and an aperitif of chorizo, salami and cheese.
The winery has a car park for visitors, and can be reached on foot from the centre of Logroño. Appointments are required for all activities. At Bodegas Ijalba we offer the experience of visiting a family winery. A pioneer in the production of ecological and environmentally friendly wines. You will be able to enjoy a view of a small vineyard with varieties recovered over the years in the lands of La Rioja.

Winery visits and tasting

• Opening times: Monday to Sunday.
• Price: 15 € adults. Children from 10 years old €6.

  Description: Viña Ijalba offers you, just a short walk from Logroño, a unique visit in which you will enjoy a full explanation of the cultivation of the vineyard and the winemaking process following organic and environmentally friendly techniques. The tour begins in our natural museum of autochthonous varieties. We then continue to the vineyard, located around the winery, where you will learn about the viticultural work that is carried out throughout the year.
  We will continue following the same process as the grapes in the winery, visiting the fermentation tanks and the barrel room. During the visit we will introduce you to La Rioja, its Qualified Designation of Origin, the peculiarities of our winery and vineyards and the secrets of our organic winemaking. The visit will end with a tasting of three organic wines and a Riojan aperitif.

Glass in hand visits

• Duration: 1,5 hours
• Price: 25 € adults.
• Languages: Spanish and English.
• Description: During the grape harvest season, we recommend our “Copa en mano” visit, in which you will have the opportunity to taste the wines from the tanks to the barrels. You will be able to see the evolution and differences in each step of the winemaking process. The visit ends with a tasting of the finished wines.

Singular tastings

• La cadena (12 € per person): More classic range of wines, our origins. It consists of tasting and enjoying 4 organic wines: Ijalba Genolí, Ijalba Tempranillo, Ijalba Crianza and Ijalba Reserva.
• “La Monovarietal” (€18 per person): A range of more special wines. Our collection of monovarietal wines consists of 4 wines with their own personality in which respect for each variety is the priority: Ijalba Tempranillo Blanco, Ijalba Maturana Blanca, Ijalba Graciano and Ijalba Maturana Tinta.
• Languages: Spanish and English.
• Description: For wine lovers, who have already visited many wineries, there is the option of our “Singular Tastings”. Here you can enjoy a tasting of our range of young, crianza and reserve wines. Or the tasting of our single varietals, where you can enjoy the aromas and fresh flavours such as white Tempranillo or white Maturana.

Wine Bar

Come and enjoy our terrace this summer. Take advantage of the good weather and give yourself the opportunity to taste more wines after your guided tour or come and meet us for an impromptu wine tasting, we are waiting for you every day of the week in our Wine bar, where you can enjoy our wines by the glass – or bottles – accompanied by cold meats and cheese boards.
