Santa María Briones Hotel

Santa María Briones is a place in which to live without haste, a comforting space in which to reconnect with oneself and from which to discover the great historical and cultural offerings of La Rioja. A corner from which to enjoy the golden light of the sunset over the vineyards, the sinuous curve of each meander of the Ebro; the history behind each stone slab, the flavour and aroma of each grape and the reddish autumn of this land that has tanned hands and bent backs.

Our boutique hotel is located in a 16th century manor house, listed for its high historical value, located near the Torreón and the walls of the Forties of the medieval town of Briones. A manor house steeped in history that we have wanted to respect and transmit from the very beginning, and which we have enhanced with the project to restore the building carried out by the architect Ignacio Quemada (Bodegas Campoviejo) and the interior designer Isabel López Vilalta & Asociados.

We have 16 spacious rooms overlooking the river Ebro and the defensive wall of the city or the centre of the medieval village of Briones. The wall, naturally integrated as part of the hotel, houses our interior courtyard, creating a space for relaxation and recreation, ideal for those moments of peace and quiet.

We have also recovered the house’s original wine cellar, formerly used for making and preserving wine, and the old stone wine press where the grapes were trodden, which we offer as a reserved area in our Allegar restaurant and which forms a discreet space for business meetings and private events.
